Decisions
By now maybe you can see what I was facing as the terrain turned more challenging and was stretching my physical abilities. Still in Baker City, I had trouble sleeping. My mind kept churning about all my options. The next part of the trip through eastern Oregon and into Idaho would be through some very remote parts with limited services. I have never forgotten Lola Pass and the challenges leading up to it. I have also never forgotten the thrill of the miles long downhill afterwards that eventually leads you into Missoula, Montana. Was I willing to give up that ride?
Finally I made up my mind and I was at peace with that decision. It was okay not to tackle the Rockies and still be able to enjoy my trip. I had to spend a few more days in Baker City before I could find transportation to Missoula but I eventually made it there.
